Sean Hannity Scoffs at Robert De Niro ‘Acting Like Mr. Tough Guy’ Outside Trump Trial
Sean Hannity scoffed when asked about actor Robert De Niro’s appearance this week at Donald Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan.
De Niro, along with former Capitol police officers Michael Fanone and Harry Dunn, appeared on behalf of President Joe Biden’s campaign outside the courthouse on Tuesday, the same day closing arguments were given. De Niro predicted an end to democracy and possibly the world if Trump is reelected. At one point, the actor got into a heated exchange with a Trump-supporting heckler calling Fanone and Dunn “traitors.”
Hannity joined Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning and dismissed De Niro’s courthouse performance when it was brought up by co-host Lawrence Jones.
blasted De Niro for declaring that Trump “doesn’t belong” in New York, which the actor referred to as his city, saying he was acting like “Mr. Tough Guy.”
“He was acting like he was bringing back his role in Goodfellas, acting like Mr. Tough Guy, and [saying], ‘he doesn’t belong in my city,’ oh, okay, tell that to Donald Trump when he was building buildings and hiring all the people to build them,” Hannity said.
Trump is facing more than 30 felony counts for falsifying business records. He’s accused of deliberately concealing hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an affair. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
In a Wednesday Truth Social post, Trump also targeted De Niro, calling him a “wacko.”
“I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was. Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA,” the former president wrote. “Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there.”
