Ted Cruz Tells Fox Biden ‘In The Business Right Now Of Buying Votes’ With Loan Forgiveness For ‘Pro-Hamas Rioters’

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday said in a post on X that President Joe Biden is trying to buy votes in the election through pandering to “pro-Hamas rioters” protesting at college campuses around the country, a sentiment he expressed in more detail in the embedded Fox Business clip.

Cruz was a guest on Friday’s Varney & Co. on Fox Business Network, and spoke with host Stuart Varney about the election and the Biden administration’s stances on Israel and the war in Gaza.

Varney played a clip featuring Education Secretary Miguel Cardona being questioned on Capitol Hill on whether Biden’s latest proposed student debt cancellation plan would mean that American taxpayers were paying off the loans of the student protesters. Varney then asked Cruz about it.

“Senator, are we really going to forgive the debt of anti-Israel pro Hamas protesters?” asked Varney.

“Well, look, the answer is actually no,” said Cruz. “But you got to understand, the Biden administration is in the business right now buying votes. They tried before the last election to give away $1 trillion in money they didn’t have the legal authority to give away by forgiving a bunch of loans. That was obviously lawless.”

Cruz said they knew it would be struck down before, and they know the same this time around.

“We’re in another election season, what are the Democrats tried to do? They’re trying to buy the same votes,” he said. “They know the courts will strike this down, too.”

In his post on X, he made a more blunt assessment.

In a separate post about the protesters who walked out of commencement at Duke University when Jewish actor and comic Jerry Seinfeld took the stage, Cruz called them “leftist anti-Semites.”

The Texas senator also weighed in on President Biden’s new policy toward providing aid to Israel.

VARNEY: Senator, are we really going to forgive the debt of anti-Israel pro Hamas protesters?

CRUZ: Well, look, the answer is actually no. But you got to understand, the Biden administration is in the business right now of buying votes. They tried before the last election to give away $1 trillion in money they didn’t have the legal authority to give away by forgiving a bunch of loans. That was obviously lawless. When they did so, they knew that. It went to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court struck it down.

We’re in another election season, what are the Democrats tried to do? They’re trying to buy the same votes. They’re trying to convince young people, hey, we’ll give you free stuff, just make sure you vote for Democrats in November. They know the courts will strike this down, too. It’ll never happen.

So, the answer that that Secretary Cardona gave there is completely unsurprising, because if he actually said, you know, the violent protesters that are threatening other students, threatening Jewish students that are burning American flags, that are chanting ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America’, we won’t forgive their loans. If he said that — Look, they’re trying to buy their votes twice! Both with loan forgiveness and through through undermining Israel.

This is all about politics for the administration, and it’s really a shame how extreme the Democrat Party has gotten with this kind of rabid anti-Semitism is now a major part of the party that there is a pro Hamas wing of the Democrat Party.
