Trump Fires Back at ‘Incompetent’ Gavin Newsom Amid Governor’s Internet Trolling: ‘Got a Good Line of Bullsh*t’
President Donald Trump attacked California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) over the governor’s ongoing trolling campaign on social media.
Trump on Friday held a press conference in the Oval Office with FIFA president Gianni Infantino to announce the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup — which will be hosted by cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Infantino also with the World Cup trophy for Trump to admire.
When the event was opened up for questions, Real America’s Voice reporter — and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) boyfriend — Brian Glenn asked about states ensuring they have the facilities to host World Cup matches. Trump used the opportunity to go after Los Angeles and Newsom:
Well, Los Angeles is an example. You know, it’s poorly run. We have a mayor there that can’t even get permits to the people that lost their houses. [U.S. EPA Administrator] Lee Zeldin got every permit. The hardest permit is the federal permit. Within 20 days, every single permit was there for the people to build their houses; but people are writing us and they’re saying, “They won’t give us” — the mayor is incompetent. The governor is incompetent. You know, Gavin — I know Gavin very well. He’s an incompetent guy with a good line of bullshit, and he doesn’t get the job done; and frankly, those people want to build their houses. It’s terrible. They could have been built. Some of them could have been built already.
In recent days, Newsom and his office have made a shift in social media strategy that’s gotten the attention of the MAGA world. The governor has begun outright mocking Trump with posts emulating his rhetoric.
