‘Trump Knows Nothing About Rural America’: Democrat Hits Back After Former President Slams His Appearance On Fox News

Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz (D) clapped back at former President Donald Trump on Wednesday after the GOP nominee for president slammed Fox News for interviewing him on Tuesday.

“Why did Fox News put up Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota, where I am leading? They make me fight battles that I shouldn’t have to fight!” Trump whined on Truth Social Tuesday after the Democrat appeared on Fox’s America’s Newsroom midday to discuss the state of the race and his being on Kamala Harris’s short-list for vice president.

Walz shared a screenshot of Trump’s post on X and replied, “Take it from this small town guy: Donald Trump knows nothing about rural America. That’s why he’s going to lose Minnesota. And Wisconsin. And Michigan. And Pennsylvania.”

Trump has attacked Fox News multiple times in recent months for putting Democrats on air to discuss the inner workings of the Democratic Party. On Monday, Trump also attacked Fox News for interviewing Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) about President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

Fox’s interview with Walz was by no means overly friendly. “Thanks for being here right now. Question for you. You can see it all over the New York Times, the opinion pieces there. Did the Democrats move too quickly, governor?” asked anchor Bill Hemmer to start off the interview with Walz, whose state was last won by a Republican in 1972 by Richard Nixon.

Walz did land some punches on Trump, accusing the Republican of “cozying up to dictators like Putin and Orban.”
