Trump Skewers ‘Whacked-Out’ No Kings Protestors: ‘I’m Not a King — I Work My Ass Off!’

President Donald Trump mocked the “whacked-out” protestors who attended the “No Kings” rallies this weekend, saying they are outcasts who do not represent the average American.

The president shared his thoughts on the rallies after taking a question from an Associated Press reporter aboard Air Force One on Sunday night. Trump also took issue with the central premise of the protests.

“By the way, I’m not a king,” Trump said. “I’m not a king — I work my ass off to make our country great, that’s all it is. I’m not a king, at all.”

The president, a moment earlier, said he believed “radical left lunatics” like billionaire and liberal activist George Soros helped pay for the “brand new signs” at the event.

“We’re checking it out,” he said.

The second edition of the No Kings protests on Saturday drew 7 million people nationwide, according to its organizers; the first round of No Kings protests had about 5 million attendees, organizers said, back in June.

Protests in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston received plenty of media attention on Saturday.

Some notable moments included MSNBC interviewing attendees in bear and unicorn outfits, with the man inside the unicorn costume telling reporter Jacob Soboroff it was worth looking “ridiculous” to protest a “ridiculous” president.

Another standout moment from Houston included one organizer saying she was “proud” to be labeled “Antifa” — even if Republicans like House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) view it as a slur.

Johnson, earlier in the week, had mockingly dubbed the event the “Hate America Rally,” and predicted it would be littered with a bunch of communists and terrorist supporters who loathe their own country.

Trump on Sunday called the protests a “joke” and said they were “very small and very ineffective.”
