Trump Touts Record on Primary Endorsements, Except That One Guy Who ‘Had No Chance of Winning’ Anyway

President Donald Trump celebrated his 8-1 record on primary endorsements this week, while dismissing his one loss as one where his preferred candidate had “virtually no chance of winning.”

Taking a victory lap on his Truth Social account just before noon ET on Friday, Trump touted “another good night for Endorsements,” except for Republican Rep. Andy Ogles (TN), who was unseated by Former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher.

“Last night was another good night for Endorsements, 8-1, and the 1 was a person who I remained loyal to even though he had virtually no chance of winning, and was running against a Great “Trump” Candidate, and former Agricultural Commissioner of Tennessee, named Charlie Hatcher,” Trump wrote.

Trump then offered his support to Hatcher.

“Good luck Charlie! Run tough and hard. You have my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

In a previous Truth Social post Before Ogles’ loss, Trump praised him as a public servant “doing a fantastic job,” adding: “Andy is a Conservative Warrior who has strong support from his Community.”

Ogles has represented Tennessee’s 5th District since 2023, but was investigated over alleged campaign finance violations, which he denied.

He also became well-known for inflammatory remarks on social media about Muslims.

Hatcher now advances to November’s election, where he will face off against Democratic Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder.
