Trump Transition Team Insists Applicants’ Conflicts of Interest ‘Must Be Remedied’

The transition team for the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance has launched a website that includes a page for interested applicants to apply for jobs — and it includes a loyalty test and a mandate for remedying conflicts of interest.
The website, trumpvancetransition.com, has a page titled “Serve America” with instructions on how to submit a job application.
The introduction declares that serving in the Trump-Vance White House will be “a service to our Nation and a high honor, which demands both sacrifice and dedication,” including a “rigorous” application process and “significant” time commitment and “fast” pace for those who are hired.
The page then describes the requirements for “most applicants” — leaving the reader to wonder what applicants might be exempted from such criteria:

As shown above, the requirements state that “[a]ny conflicts” of interest “must be remedied,” listing possible avenues for such remedies as “divestiture, the creation of special trusts, and other actions.”
It should perhaps be noted that Trump himself did not divest of his corporate holdings during his first term, has profited handsomely from charging Secret Service agents to stay at his hotel properties, and seems extraordinarily unlikely to do avoid conflicts with his own personal finances in this second term.
After the standard questions about contact information, education levels, and military status, the application contains a loyalty test.

“What part of President Trump’s campaign message is most appealing to you and why?” the application inquires, along with asking job seekers to say if they were referred by anyone on the transition team and how they helped the campaign.
