President Donald Trump laid into his longtime ally, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Friday, calling her “wacky” while also withdrawing his endorsement of her.

Greene has bucked Trump on a handful of issues, including aid to Israel and Ukraine, as well as H-1B visas. Perhaps most notably, she has split with the president by seeking the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files held by the Department of Justice. The lawmaker was one of just four Republicans to sign a discharge petition in the House to force a vote on legislation calling on the DOJ to release the files. Trump has so far resisted after saying during the campaign last year that he would. The vote is scheduled for Tuesday, and the bill is expected to pass.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote a lengthy screed against one of his biggest boosters:

I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of “Congresswoman” Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia. Over the past few weeks, despite my creating Record Achievements for our Country including, a Total and Complete Victory on the Shutdown, Closed Borders, Low Taxes, No Men in Women’s Sports or Transgender for Everyone, ending DEI, stopping Biden’s Record Setting Inflation, Biggest Regulation Cuts in History, stopping EIGHT WARS, rebuilding our Military, being RESPECTED by every Country in the World (as opposed to being the laughingstock that we were just 12 months ago!), having Trillions of Dollars (Record Setting!) INVESTED in the U.S.A., and having created the “HOTTEST” Country anywhere in the World from being a DEAD Country just 12 months ago (and so much more!), all I see “Wacky” Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!). She has told many people that she is upset that I don’t return her phone calls anymore, but with 219 Congressmen/women, 53 U.S. Senators, 24 Cabinet Members, almost 200 Countries, and an otherwise normal life to lead, I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day. I understand that wonderful, Conservative people are thinking about primarying Marjorie in her District of Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics and, if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support. She has gone Far Left, even doing The View, with their Low IQ Republican hating Anchors. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Trump’s missive comes the same week the House Oversight Committee released thousands of emails to and from Epstein, the deceased child sex trafficker with whom Trump was friends for years.

In an email from 2011, Epstein said President Donald Trump, who was then a private citizen, “spent hours at my house” with a person whose name had been redacted and who Democrats on the committee instead labeled as “Victim.” Republicans on the committee cried foul, saying that the name was that of Virginia Giuffre, who said she never witnessed Trump do anything untoward. Giuffre died by suicide this year. In another email, Epstein stated that Trump “knew about the girls.” Elsewhere, Epstein claimed he “gave” his ex-girlfriend to Trump.

On Friday, Trump directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats. Such an investigation could give the administration cover to refuse to release the files under any circumstances by claiming there is an active investigation into Epstein’s connections.

Also on Friday, Greene responded to Trump, who said only “stupid” Republicans want the Epstein files released.

“Rich, powerful people should not be protected,” she said. “That is completely wrong.”
