WATCH: Missouri GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Posts Incredibly Bizarre Campaign Ad About Illegal Immigration
Missouri state senator and gubernatorial candidate Bill Eigel posted a campaign ad about illegal immigration that some online have deemed racist.
The ad begins with Eigel introducing himself and his intention to run for governor of Missouri.
“I’m Bill Eigel,” he said. “I’m running for governor to crack down on illegal immigration.”
Suddenly, the camera zooms out to reveal a Latino man right next to him. Latin music then begins playing as the man — identified in subtitles as the “translator” — says in Spanish, “He’s Bill Eigel. He will crack down on illegal immigration.”
Eigel then promises that there will be “no more taxpayer handouts for illegals.” To emphasize his point, Eigel then says, “Nada, zilch, zero.”
The translator appeared visibly concerned by what Eigel said before then saying in Spanish, “No more illegals. No more money. The party is over.”
“We’re throwing them in jail,” Eigel continued, “and sending them back where they came from.”
The translator then put his hands on his head in distress as he said, “Ay caramba,” an expression used when someone is surprised.
The ad drew widespread criticism online.
One of the most racist campaign ads that I have ever seen… pic.twitter.com/mOCMcnIIvE

Jess is right
This guy is the worst and makes me embarrassed for Missouri.
He’s pushing a hate agenda that’s dangerous & outdated.
Dear god we need to make sure he doesn’t come close to a seat of power in this state. https://t.co/wmEvaJ9ys7— Phillip Caldwell (@DumpsterDiveFF) July 24, 2024
