‘We Have To’: Dan Pfeiffer Changed His Mind About Democrats Going On Fox News

Pod Save America co-host Dan Pfeiffer argued against Democrats avoiding conservative media after seeing his colleague Tommy Vietor appear on Fox News with Jesse Watters.

On Pod Save America, Dan Pfeiffer and Jon Favreau, both former aides for former President Barack Obama, praised their co-host’s appearance on Fox News, which included Vietor talking about everything from how many genders there are to President Donald Trump.

“I have been a long-time opponent of Democrats other than the most talented of Democrats, which I would include Tommy in, going on Fox News. But now this is the thing we have to do,” Pfeiffer said. “We have to be everywhere and you have to be in uncomfortable spaces so you’ll get more attention. Like, if Tommy had just gone on pick your MSNBC show, it wouldn’t have gotten any currency outside of the people who happen to be watching at that moment.”

“We’re not talking about [Jon Lovett] on Chris Hayes last night,” Favreau responded, referring to their co-host Jon Lovett appearing on MSNBC the same week.

Vietor offered up some criticism of former President Joe Biden during his Fox appearance, blasting his last-minute pardons as a bad message for the party, though he also criticized President Donald Trump over his Jan. 6 pardons.

“I think Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his family sends a terrible message to the world. I think the presidential pardon power is far too expansive,” he said. “I would love to see Congress come together and pass a constitutional amendment that says you cannot pardon yourself, you can’t pardon your family, you can’t pardon your staff. I think all your listeners would support that.”
