‘Welcome to America’: Time‘s Latest Cover Features Distraught Immigrant Child Facing the President
It was on June 12 when this two-year-old Honduran asylum-seeker was photographed by @jbmoorephoto, crying as her mother was detained near the U.S.-Mexico border. Nine days later—her image having helped force a president’s hand—she’s on the cover of TIME. https://t.co/DAtIpMoUUK pic.twitter.com/k3FRvqWpUw

“Welcome to America,” reads the headline on the latest cover of Time magazine, released this morning via Twitter.
The stark cover features President Donald Trump looking down at the already iconic image of a child, a two-year-old girl from Honduras, separated from her family and crying in distress at the U.S. border.
President Trump’s Executive Order issued on Wednesday is meant to act as a temporary solution to the issue of child separation, allowing families to remain together while detained and awaiting adjudication. It does not change the policy of charging all those apprehended crossing or attempting to cross the border with criminal charges, nor does it change any refugee status or procedure.
