‘Don’t Put Your Hands on Him’: New Footage Reveals Tense Postgame Exchange Between Deion Sanders and Colorado State’s Head Coach

New footage revealed there was still bad blood between Colorado football coach Deion Sanders and Colorado State coach Jay Norvell after the two shook hands at the end of their game.

Leading up to this year’s Rocky Mountain Showdown, Norvell made headlines when he took a shot at Sanders for wearing his hat and sunglasses during interviews. He said his mother raised him to take off his hat and glasses as a sign of respect.

Sanders felt disrespected, claiming Norvell implied he wasn’t raised the right way. To the media and to his team, Sanders said Norvell made the upcoming game “personal” and vowed to make him pay.

Although the Buffaloes were heavy favorites, the Rams made it a very competitive game. Colorado managed to win 43-35 in a thrilling overtime game that set ratings records.

A recent episode of the Amazon show Coach Prime showed Sanders still clearly upset with Norvell as they shook hands. In fact, Sanders was so upset that quarterback Shedeur Sanders – Deion’s son – had to discourage him from escalating the situation.

“Don’t put your hands on him,” Shedeur said in Deion’s ear, prompting an “alright” from his father.

As Deion and Norvell congratulated one another on a great game, Norvell then claimed he wasn’t trying to disrespect his family.

“I was never talking about your family,” Norvell said.

Deion didn’t buy it.

“You were talking about my mama, dog,” Deion fired back.

Norvell, clearly fed up by the ordeal, reiterated that he wasn’t talking about Deion’s family before nodding with a grin on his face and turning around.

“Yes, you were,” Deion said. “You were.”

After the premiere of the episode Kim Norvell — Jay’s wife — took to Twitter to call out Shedeur for his handling of the situation. In the now-deleted tweet, she claimed he “acted like a B” when her husband turned his back to them. Shedeur also did his signature gesture of holding up his arm to show up his watch.
