Blake Griffin is a five-time NBA All Star, and NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, and was the Rookie of The Year in 2011. You could say he’s a pretty good basketball player. But we all need backups and side-hustles, and Griffin has his in the bag. If the whole sports thing doesn’t work out for him, he could have a career in standup comedy.
He’s done improv at the UCB, has tried standup at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, and his commercial spots are always great. He recently took the stage in Montreal as part of the Just For Laughs festival and performed for ten minutes. If you’ve ever done an open mic, or have had the
pleasure excruciating experience of sitting through one, ten minutes can feel like ten hours. Griffin is a total pro:
He talks a lot about being a basketball player, and closes with a really funny and polished bit about strip clubs. It’s worth the ten minutes of your time.
