‘Stick to Reporting!’ Ravens Linebacker Trashes Football Writer in Fiery Post

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy called out a reporter for completely whiffing on their breakdown of film from Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles.
On Sunday night, OutKick NFL writer Armando Salguero criticized Bills linebacker Von Miller for a play he perceived as a poorly executed rush to the quarterback. As a result of the play, Miller collided with Eagles center Jason Kelce as he attempted to get to QB Jalen Hurts.
“Rush the QB, not the center Von Miller,” Salguero said on Twitter.

The next morning, Van Noy pointed out that Miller was actually executing a pick stunt — a defensive strategy in which an edge rusher moves inside to allow the interior defensive lineman to attack from the outside.
“Armando… You are actually a decent beat reporter but stick to reporting and not breaking down film!” Van Noy said in response to Salguero’s tweet. “This is actually a great pick stunt had you played you would know this. Stick to what you know don’t follow the crowd! This is bad Reporting!!!! All good tho cuz you can learn from this and stop doing this. Have a blessed day!”

As Salguero’s tweet gained more attention, more people — including other players — piled on the criticism. According to Salguero’s Twitter bio, he votes on the All-Pro teams each year and also on the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees. It will inevitably question the validity of such honors when its voters appear to lack knowledge of the sport’s nuances.
