‘We All Want Daddy Trump Back!’ Golf Great John Daly Tells Tucker Carlson That His Fellow Golfers Are Clamoring for a Second Term
Golf great John Daly revealed he’s longing for Donald Trump to return to the White House — and he’s not the only one on the PGA Tour who feels that way.
On a recent episode of The Tucker Carlson Encounter, Carson asked two-time major champion Daly about the political views of other players. While reaffirming his support for his friend Trump, Daly claimed the former president was popular among pro golfers.
“I think all of us on the tours and everything, we all want daddy Trump back!” Daly said.
The response drew a laugh from Carlson, who then asked why.
“Because he was a great president and a great guy once you get to know him,” Daly said. “I’ve know him since the early ’90s.”
Daly then shared a story of Trump revealing his presidential aspirations to him around that time.
“It was funny,” Daly continued. “I can’t remember the tournament. He flew his helicopter in. We played a pro-am. We went out back (and) we talked a little bit. He stood up (and) he says, ‘Mark my words, I’ll be President of the United States one day.’ This is back in ’92, ’93, ’94, maybe.”
Shocked by the story, Carlson asked if Daly actually believed him.
“I did,” Daly said. “He’s an unbelievably smart individual that people gotta get behind and we’ve gotta do something.”
