‘We Are At The Behest Of The CCP’: Fox News Hosts Say China Behind Sudden Popularity of Bin Laden on TikTok
Fox News co-hosts on Thursday said China is behind the viral TikTok trend that has Gen Z enthralled with 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden’s “Letter to America” to show they can “brainwash” America’s youth openly.
Correspondent William La Jeunesse laid out what’s been going on with the social media platform:
Social media, especially TikTok, is transforming the national conversation. So, here’s what happened: a pro-Palestinian influencer discovered a letter written by Osama Bin Laden written 20 years ago on the web page of a British newspaper. She then posted a video saying Bin Laden, the man responsible for 9/11, was right; Jews have no historical right to Israel and that he blames America for any and all violence in the Middle East.
La Jeunesse went on to say that the video got two million views and has spread to other platforms like Twitter and Reddit.
“You have the Chinese Communist Party that owns TikTok that is using this to brainwash our children, no doubt,” said Jeremy Hunt. “I mean, they’re using their algorithms to make sure pro-Hamas videos are trending, to make sure this pro-Osama Bin Laden is trending. I think they’re mocking us, saying, ‘We can brainwash your children right in front of you,’ that’s part of it. But the reason it’s been so successful is because our kids are so obsessed with getting likes, getting popular, wanting the social media clout.”
“This is why we need more investigation into things like TikTok,” agreed contributor Tammy Bruce. “There is some presumption about the degree of control of China. You know, we are connecting the dots, perhaps in supposition. But we really still don’t know exactly about the algorithms and how this is moving, combined with the empty-headedness of a certain generation.”
Emily Compagno added, “When you talk about sort of identifying and ascertaining the algorithms, I just see that we are the product of a very deliberate machination that has been years in the making, decades in the making, and they are winning. We are at the behest of the CCP. We are at the behest of a socialist and communist movement that has had as its goal, social agitation, and civil and political unrest in this country, and they are succeeding. Proof is in the fact that just one TikTok post posting a letter that we denounce, that is disgusting, that that somehow opens the eyes of our children. Shame on the parents, shame on this government.”
