Trump Puts More Pressure on Mike Johnson as Ukraine Aid Threatens Speakership: ‘Why Isn’t Europe Giving More Money to Help Ukraine?’

Former president and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump inserted himself into the ongoing debate over providing more aid to Ukraine on Thursday.
“Why isn’t Europe giving more money to help Ukraine? Why is it that the United States is over $100 Billion Dollars into the Ukraine War more than Europe, and we have an Ocean between us as separation!” mused Trump on Truth Social. “Why can’t Europe equalize or match the money put in by the United States of America in order to help a Country in desperate need? As everyone agrees, Ukrainian Survival and Strength should be much more important to Europe than to us, but it is also important to us! GET MOVING EUROPE! In addition, I am the only one who speaks for ‘ME’ and, while it is a total mess caused by Crooked Joe Biden and the Incompetent Democrats, if I were President, this War would have never started!”
Republican rebels in the House of Representatives are threatening to strip Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) of his gavel if he moves forward with a vote on more aid for Ukraine.
“I don’t know how long people are going to tolerate this because he’s doing nothing but serving the Democrats,” argued Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who has already filed a motion to vacate the chair in the House.
On Wednesday, Johnson indicated that was willing to risk his job to vote on bills for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
“My philosophy is you do the right thing and you let the chips fall where they may. If I operated out of fear of a motion to vacate, I would never be able to do my job,” he said. “Look, history judges us for what we do. This is a critical time right now, critical time on the world stage.”

“I could make a selfish decision and do something that’s different, but I’m doing here what I believe to be the right thing,” added Johnson.
