ABC’s World News #1 In Demo Last Week Ending NBC’s 4+ Years Streak

ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer won the coveted 25-54 demo last week, ending a nearly 5 year long streak for NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams. ABC had 1.917M in the demo while NBC had 1.879M. NBC’s broadcast won in total viewers with 7.536M total to ABC’s 7.287M.

Regular host Diane Sawyer led the broadcast Monday and Tuesday night last week, while fill-in David Muir anchored Wednesday through Friday. Stories that may have helped boost ABC’s ratings include the royal baby coverage and Robin Roberts’ exclusive interview with George Zimmerman trial Juror B29, part of which aired Thursday evening.
