Author of Kushner Inc.: Ivanka and Jared Are ‘Worse Than Enablers’ For Trump
Journalist Vicky Ward, author of Kushner Inc., defended her book that is set to be released on Tuesday and said Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner went into the White House to benefit themselves.
Brad Parscale, Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, slammed the book as a “fantasy.”
“I would be curious if Brad Parscale has read it. It’s not out yet, George. It comes out on Tuesday. Look. Jared and Ivanka famously don’t like it if people don’t say great things about them,” Ward told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “I wasn’t expecting them to turn around and say, ‘oh, she makes some good points.’ You know, I spend two years researching this. I interviewed 220 individual people, 118 of those multiple times. I recognize that the book does have a lot of anonymous sources, but I make it a point of principle when reporting to make sure that every scene has at least two sources.”
She called the White House’s claim of not calling either one of the pair “absolute rubbish” because, while it did take a long time to get their spokesman on the phone, he did say he would respond to questions.
“Well, I then sent the fact-checking questions. There were, like, seven or eight of them and they needed yes or no answers. And they then delivered their ludicrous statement that it would take too much time,” Ward added, saying the book shows they are not the “moral center” of the Trump administration.
“You think they are enablers?” Stephanopoulos asked.
“I think — they are almost worse than enablers. Some go into government for public service, and I think they have gone in for self-service,” she replied.
