Blogger Proposes TV Show From Hell: Right-Wing SNL, Starring James Woods, Ann Coulter, and More
The 2016 election of President Donald Trump, who ran on a culture-war platform, has centered country’s political focus on the gaping divide between the coastal entertainment industry and middle America.
But, fear not: a writer at conservative website Townhall has a solution, which he outlined in all its hellish detail in a column on Thursday.
MAKE SNL IN OMAHA!
Mike LaChance, the author who has also written for esteemed sewage rags Gateway Pundit and Breitbart, laid out his proposal: “If Conservatives Want To Win The Culture War, We Need Our Own ‘Saturday Night Live’,” he begins.
The format of the proposed show would mimic Lorne Michaels‘ long-running NBC sketch show, but with a conservative bent. To fend off indoctrination by the coastal elites, it will be based in “America’s heartland”: Omaha, NE.
LaChance proposes the cast, an all-star lineup of right-wing Twitter trolls:
Where SNL in recent years has become boring and hackneyed, SNL Omaha at least promises to be horrifically offensive. La Chance does not explain how he’s going to convince the cast to relocate to Omaha, considering they are all themselves elites who live on the coasts.
He expands on that main cast with a slew of others:
Future potential hosts could include Rush Limbaugh, Adam Carolla, Ben Shapiro, Joe Rogan, Michelle Malkin, Nick Searcy, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Jon Voight, Dennis Miller, Angie Harmon, Larry the Cable Guy, Dean Cain, Pat Sajak, Tucker Carlson and Mike Rowe, just to name a few.
Musical guests would include Kanye West, who after years of facing fierce criticism from conservatives has now been embraced by the right because he wore a MAGA hat to boost his album sales.
Also unlike SNL, LaChance writes, you wouldn’t limit mockery to Fox News, but take aim at CNN hosts Brian Stelter and Chris Cuomo.
“Imagine the horror of media and Hollywood elitists the first time ‘Live from Omaha!’ outpaces ‘Live from New York!’ in the ratings,” La Chance fantasizes.
But there’s one problem with his big idea:
I don’t have the contacts to pitch this officially to anyone at FOX News or FOX Entertainment, but I hope they’re reading this, because I’m not kidding. Conservative Americans need and deserve a ‘Saturday Night Live’ of their own.
Read the pitch here, Mr. Ailes.
