Chris Wallace Confronts Rush Limbaugh over His Fox Criticism
Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace confronted Rush Limbaugh over his criticism of Fox for not going whole-hog on a proposed government shutdown over President Barack Obama’s immigration action. Wallace argued that the last government shutdown turned into a massive unforced error for the GOP, while Limbaugh responded that the GOP won in 2014 anyway, so screw it.
“They won a landslide election ten months after that so-called shutdown,” Limbaugh said. “You keep talking polls to me. The essence of a poll is an election, and I’ve got two of them. And we would have won in 2012 if 4 million Republicans hadn’t stayed home.”

Limbaugh said the GOP establishment was using the specter of government shutdown as an excuse not to act on immigration, because they secretly agree with Obama’s position.
“The Republicans want what Obama wants on immigration, and they are using the government shutdown as an excuse to not stop with him,” Limbaugh said. “Obviously the Republican establishment doesn’t want to stop Obama on comprehensive immigration reform. And very conveniently here’s this government shutdown, ‘Oh we can’t act, they’ll blame us for shutting down the government.’ I think it’s absurd.”
