CNN’s Ali Velshi Calls Out RNC’s Communication Director Doug Heye

It looks like the President wasn’t the only one who’s a little worked up today. On CNN, Ali Velshi wasn’t happy with comments from the RNC’s Communication Director, Doug Heye, made which Velshi felt implied that the working people of America were a special interest group. Sensing some compelling television in the making, Rick Sanchez brought Heye back on to respond. Sure enough, we got what Sanchez later called a “spirited conversation” as Velshi and Heye argued over what’s really hurting our nation’s workers.

Velshi and Heye clearly had differing views on the speech as a whole (Velshi called it “a president on fire” while Heye said parts of it were “beneath the office of the president”) and they also disagreed on what was the biggest problem right now for small businesses. Heye named the government’s (ie. Obama’s) policies while Velshi pointed to the inability to get loans from private banks. Both got some good punches in before Sanchez turned the conversation back to whether or not the speech was too personal. So, I’ll leave it to you all; who had a better grasp on the struggles of America’s working man?
