Disappeared Reappears In Season Two With Strong Ratings
Investigation Discovery’s Disappeared returned for season two earlier this month, and the ratings have debuted strongly.
Last week Mediaite went to the launch of the new season, and executives talked about the partnership with NBCU’s Peacock Productions and more.
Sharon Scott, Executive Vice President of Peacock Productions, said “you can make it beautiful without spending a lot of money,” and Investigation Discovery President Henry Schleiff echoed those thoughts. “I don’t want to say too many positive things about the show because it’ll cost us with the renewal,” he joked.
The show premiered with 506,000 total viewers in its 10pmET airing, and was the networks best show in total viewers for the night. It grew in viewership from the lead-in, as well as week-to-week.
“You know good storytelling, you know bad storytelling,” Schleiff told the staff members in attendance. “This is off the charts good storytelling.”
From the Peacock Productions site:
Now in its second season, each hour delves into one story, tracing the time immediately before the individual vanished for critical clues about the disappearance. Often hidden beneath seemingly everyday behavior and actions are hints about what may have driven someone to voluntarily vanish or evidence that foul play may explain the mystery.
