Hillary Targets Trump in Victory Speech: We Need President Who Won’t ‘Embarrass’ Us!
Without referring to him too much, it was clear that Donald Trump was the main target of Hillary Clinton‘s victory speech tonight after winning Ohio and Florida. With those big wins under her belt and Bernie Sanders‘ path narrowing by the day, it’s clear Clinton is pivoting towards the general election.
Clinton declared, “The commander-in-chief has to be able to defend our country, not embarrass it!”
She went through a list of Trump’s most alarming policies and said that “when he embraces torture, that doesn’t make him strong, it makes him wrong!”
Clinton spoke of rejecting divisiveness and smallness and combating inequality wherever it arises. She even noted somewhat sardonically that “running for president is hard, but being president is harder.”
She called for “respect, kindness, and even love, instead of bluster and bigotry” to the cheers of the crowd.
