Hunter Biden Says He’s ‘Cooperating Completely’ With DOJ Investigation Into Business Dealings

Hunter Biden sat down with CBS News’ Tracy Smith ahead of the release of his book Beautiful Things. They discussed Biden’s personal struggles, and in particular his struggles with substance abuse.

Smith also asked about the ongoing investigation into his finances. Back in December, then-president-elect Joe Biden’s son said the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware is investigating his “tax affairs.”

A CNN report at the time said investigators are “examining multiple financial issues, including whether Hunter Biden and his associates violated tax and money laundering laws in business dealings in foreign countries, principally China.”

Smith asked Biden, “There’s a current Department of Justice investigation into your finances. What is it about? Can you say anything more?”

“i can’t,” Biden responded. “But I can say this. I’m cooperating completely, and I’m completely certain — 100 percent certain — that at the end of the investigation that I will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

“All I can do is cooperate and trust in the process,” he added.

In a preview of the interview released on Friday, Smith asked Biden about the laptop reported on several months ago and whether it’s really is. Biden told Smith it could be his, but he doesn’t know.
