James Carville Calls David Hogg a ‘Contemptible Little Twerp’ and Suggests DNC Sue Him
James Carville slammed Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg as a “contemptible little twerp” and suggested the DNC sue him on Wednesday.
Carville joined NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Wednesday following his call for progressive Democrats more concerned with “pronoun politics” to leave to Democratic Party. In Carville’s interview, he slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Hogg, arguing that all three are part of the problem.
All three, the Democratic strategist said, are more interested in targeting Democrats than Republicans.
Carville took particular issue with Hogg and his newly-announced venture to use millions to challenge incumbent Democrats.
Hogg, a Parkland shooting survivor and vocal gun control activist who was recently elected to the position of DNC vice chair, announced that Leaders We Deserve, another organization he serves as president of, will be part of a $20 million initiative to intervene in Democratic districts. The effort is meant to boost younger Democrats who may be challenging incumbents and the status quo. The move has ruffled some feathers, including with Carville. The strategist even suggested the DNC sue Hogg.
Cuomo backed Carville’s idea of expanding the Democratic Party, arguing the current system creates a “binary battle to the bottom.” He also argued Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders, and Hogg are all using the “MAGA playbook.”
“Go after your own and have a purity test,” he said of the political strategy.
Carville added:
Why doesn’t somebody sue David Hogg? He’s an officer of the Democratic National Committee. He is the vice chairman of the Democrat National Committee, and he’s running against other Democrats. I would like to know, and you went to law school, does he have a fiduciary duty to Democrats? If I work for, if you work for NewsNation, you can’t promote CNN. That’s if you worked for somebody else. You have a fiduciary duty to your employer, which anybody can understand. He’s being paid to run against other Democrats. I think it’s an outrage. I don’t know if I have standing, but I might give the DMC $10 and then sue him. He is a contemptible little twerk, if he asks me.
“Sue his ass, Jim!” Cuomo said, laughing.
“I might! I don’t know if I can stand him, but somebody can’t stand him,” Carville said.
