In his first televised interview since announcing that he will not run for reelection, Sen. Jeff Flake took the time to talk CNN’s Jake Tapper about his decision as well as the landmark criticisms he made of President Donald Trump on the Senate floor.
After discussing his decision with Tapper, the segment reached a peak with this honest and direct exchange:
TAPPER: Do you think that President Trump is setting a bad example for the nation’s children?
FLAKE: Yes. The statements that are made about people and seeming to ascribe the worst motives to people as well. That’s something we tell our kids not to do, and, you know, just the mean and cruel tweets or language that’s sometimes used, that’s something that I would certainly, you know, think that we shouldn’t do.
With today’s tough comments towards the President, it’s possibly only a matter of time before the world is hit by a Category 5 tweet-storm.
