John Brennan: I Found Out My Clearance Was Being Revoked From Sarah Sanders Briefing

Former CIA Director John Brennan called into MSNBC today to respond to President Donald Trump revoking his security clearance, something he found out about from the White House announcement.

After decrying the punitive move from the President, Brennan was asked by Nicolle Wallace about reporting that officials like Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats were out of the loop on this decision.

Brennan responded:

“I was called by a friend and associate when Sarah Huckabee Sanders was giving that statement. So I had no knowledge of it beforehand, no one contacted me. Nobody reached out to me over the past several weeks when this issue had first surfaced. So the first I heard about it was when I was able to turn on the television and listen to Miss Sanders, and I have not heard anything from any government official since then or before then.”
