Kornacki Confronts Wasserman Schultz Over Refusal to Say Whether She’ll Debate Dem Opponent

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz is facing a fairly tough challenge in her Democratic primary race, and Steve Kornacki confronted her on MSNBC this afternoon over her refusal to commit to debates.

The more liberal Tim Canova is set to raise a surprising $1 million, apparently in large part from Bernie Sanders supporters, and he has publicly called out the DNC head for “dodging the question” and refusing to actually debate him.

Kornacki first confronted her on the superdelegate process before getting around to her race. Wasserman Schultz insisted her priorities right now are serving her constituents and getting a Democrat elected president.

Kornacki brought up the debate question, and she dismissively said, “I’m here to speak to you as the DNC chair… I’ve answered your questions.”

He didn’t let that slide:

“You haven’t. Hold on now, you haven’t answered this one question. You’re a candidate for reelection, I think it’s a legitimate question. Will you debate your opponent in your race for reelection?”

Watch how she responded to that above, via MSNBC.
