Lindsey Graham Warns Trump: Firing Mueller Would Be ‘Beginning of the End of His Presidency’

Senator Lindsey Graham rather infamously warned President Trump that firing Robert Mueller would mark the beginning of the end of his presidency, and he stood by that assessment today.

Since Andrew McCabe‘s firing, Trump has gone after not just McCabe, but James Comey and Robert Mueller––mentioning Mueller twice by name so far.

And given Trump’s lawyer calling for the Mueller probe to end, Jake Tapper asked Graham if he’s still concerned about the probe being shut down before it concludes.

“As I’ve said before, if he tried to do that it would be the beginning of the end of his presidency,” Graham said.

Graham made it clear that the McCabe issue is separate from the Mueller probe, saying, “The only reason Mr. Mueller could ever be dismissed is for cause. I see no cause… He needs to be able to do his job independent of any political influence. I pledge to the American people as a Republican to make sure that Mr. Mueller can continue to do his job without any interference.”
