Maria Bartiromo Defends Kanye Saying ‘Motherf*cker’ in Oval Office: What About the Blue Dress

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo defended rapper Kanye West dropping an f-bomb in the Oval Office by arguing the White House is no sacred place, given Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky.

One Fox Business panelist said, “We all have to agree that the way he spoke in the White House yesterday, swearing in the White House was incredibly disrespectful,” referring to West calling himself a “crazy motherfucker” in his meeting with Trump on Thursday. Bartiromo then dove in to defend the rapper.

“In the Oval Office? Because nothing else has ever happened there that was disrespectful,” Mike Murphy noted sarcastically.

“In the Oval Office, excuse me. The blue dress, did you forget the blue dress?” Bartiromo asked on Mornings with Maria today, referencing Lewinksy’s semen-stained dress used in the investigation of Clinton. “You’re not offended by the blue dress?”

Fox News analyst Juan Williams took issue with West’s swearing, but also with President Donald Trump’s general approach to the meeting.

“It’s kind of tragic to see what can take place in the oval Office these days,” Williams said this morning. “To me it was demeaning to the stature of the office to have him using profanity, behaving in this way, going on a rant like that. But on the larger scale, in terms of the political meaning, I think that Donald Trump is looking for a black friend. I think that he wants to say to his supporters, I’m not racist, all these troubles, the tweets, the policies, the fact that black and Latinos say that I’m anti-immigrant, anti-black, don’t worry about it, there’s one black person that you know that I know and he’s here and he’s cover for me. So I think this was about Trump and the white community, not about anything to do with minorities.”

Earlier in the segment, when Williams said black people don’t want to meet with Trump because of his racist rhetoric, Bartiromo replied: “Well why does he have to do anything? The unemployment rate for African-Americans, isn’t it at a record low? His economic policies have helped a lot of groups, including the African-American community.”

Williams pointed out that the black unemployment rate dropped from 17% to 8% under Obama, and then dropped to 6% under Trump.

West met in the Oval yesterday to demand that Americans unite around Trump, rather than opposing him and his policies.

“If he don’t look good, we don’t look good. This is our president,” West said yesterday. “He has to be the freshest, the flyest, the flyest planes, the best factories and we have to make our core be empowered. We have to bring jobs into America. Because our best export is entertainment and ideas, but when we make everything in China and not in America, then we’re cheating on our country.”
