On Wednesday, Michael Cohen used a brief part of his House Oversight hearing to swat down one of the core questions between him and Fusion GPS’ salacious dossier on President Donald Trump.
Congressman Ralph Norman (R-SC) used his time to grill Cohen on his shady business activities and false statements to the bank, but he concluded by asking “Have you ever been to Prague?”
Cohen’s answer: “I’ve never been to Prague. I’ve never been to the Czech Republic.”
The question of whether Cohen has been to Prague pertains to a segment of Christopher Steele‘s dossier that said Cohen’s phone signal was picked up on cell phone towers in the Czech Republic back in 2016. The cited intelligence report suggests that Cohen was there to meet with Kremlin agents and pay off hackers who were working against Hillary Clinton‘s presidential campaign and covering Trump’s tracks on Russia.
Trump and Cohen have both denied the story on multiple occasions, though it has been a recurring source of interest for the investigations on Trump, especially due to previous reports saying Robert Mueller had proof to confirm at least part of the dossier.
