‘Piece of Sh*t’ Justin Bieber Really Wants Seth Rogen to Roast Him

Remember that time Seth Rogen tweeted, out of nowhere, that Justin Bieber is a “piece of shit?” Well, the pop star apparently enjoyed the ridicule so much that he is practically pleading with Rogen to join the festivities at his Comedy Central Roast, scheduled to air Monday, March 30.

The campaign started last week when Bieber reached out to Rogen right before his 21st birthday, making a joke about the Sony hack in the process:

Five days later, Rogen still hadn’t tweeted back at Bieber, so he decided to keep trying, this time adding the hashtag #WeWantSeth, which ended up trending worldwide:

The whole thing seems like a pretty solid promotion for an eventual “surprise” appearance by Rogen on the special later this month. Or, the actor genuinely wants nothing to do with Bieber. In an interview last year with Howard Stern, he revealed the story that prompted the tweet, involving Bieber asking to meet him backstage at a talk show and then giving him the cold shoulder.

“I was like, ‘What the fuck, I don’t give a fuck about, I don’t want to meet you. Don’t act all nonplussed to meet me. I didn’t want to meet you. I was totally cool not meeting you,’” Rogen told Stern. “But I was like, fine, I wouldn’t have said anything, I was like, ‘He’s a bit of a motherfucker. Whatever. He’s young, the kid’s a dick.’”

Later, he told Today’s Matt Lauer, “To me the idea that a grown man doesn’t like Justin Bieber is not a controversial thought. Like, why would I? It would be much weirder if I did like Justin Bieber, to me.”

In response to the uproar, Bieber offered up this semi-apology:
