Poppy Harlow Grills Trump Supporter For Connecting Clinton’s Health to NFL Concussions

Screen Shot 2016-08-21 at 6.05.16 PMThings got a little heated on CNN Newsroom Sunday when Poppy Harlow tried to take a Donald Trump supporter to task over the campaign’s insistence on playing up unproven theories that Hillary Clinton is physically unfit for the presidency.

On Sunday, Rudy Giuliani became the latest pro-Trump person to drudge up the conspiracy theories and far-right attacks that question Clinton’s mental competence. Amy Kremer advanced these online theories last week, and today, Harlow tried to pin her down over why the Trump campaign is so adamant about continuing with such a dubious line of attack.

Kremer insisted that voters have the same doubts about Clinton’s stamina.  Democratic strategist Holly Shulman jumped in to dismiss the attacks and bring up the recent questions about Trump’s medical records.

Kremer eventually defended the attacks by saying “the NFL has had major lawsuits from players having concussion years ago, it is a serious issue and the people want it answered.” At that point, Harlow brought the hammer down and asked Kremer if she was seriously trying to compare the state of Clinton’s brain to professional footballers after taking hits.

You can watch how Kremer responded in the video above, via CNN.
