Marco Rubio: ‘Sexual Preference Isn’t a Choice’

 

Senator and announced 2016 GOP candidate Marco Rubio (R-FL), who recently caused a bit of a stir when he said he would attend a gay friend’s wedding, told Face the Nation’s Bob Schieffer Sunday morning that he did not believe sexual preference was a choice, but nonetheless did not support a nationwide right to gay marriage.

“I don’t believe that your sexual preferences are a choice for a vast and enormous majority of the people, “Rubio said. “The bottom line is I believe that sexual preference is something people are born with.”

Rubio said he as not “against” gay marriage per se, but that he believed in the traditional definition of marriage and thought it should decided in state legislatures.

Nonetheless, Rubio’s statement is already earning pushback from at least one of the usual suspects:
