President Donald Trump slammed Oprah Winfrey in a late night tweet on Sunday, calling her “very insecure” for a 60 Minutes episode she appeared in, and apparently challenging her to a 2020 run.
“Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes,” Trump wrote. “The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”

The president’s tweet came after Oprah hosted a 60 Minutes panel discussion with 14 Democrats, Republicans and Independents from Grand Rapids, Michigan in a discussion about national discourse and Trump’s first year in office. Watch the discussion here.
“One year into Donald Trump’s presidency, Americans remain divided, often unwilling to listen to what the other side has to say,” she said in her introduction.
The questions Oprah asked throughout the show were pointed, and ranged from questions about Trump’s history of sexual misconduct allegations to his fitness for office and the erosion of respect for the United States around the world.
Speculation that Oprah would launch a 2020 bid for president kicked off after she delivered a rousing speech at the Golden Globes on the Me Too movement. She has denied that she is eyeing a run, but Trump — who has touted her as a potential candidate in the past — has welcomed the idea recently.
