Tucker Carlson Rips CNN’s Jim Acosta: ‘Third-Rate Punditry’ Instead of Hard News

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson tonight asked how CNN’s Jim Acosta, in his role as a senior White House correspondent, can engage in “third-rate punditry” over hard news.

Earlier this week, Acosta said that President Trump “now has the world record for injecting politics into the aftermath of a terror attack.”

Carlson jabbed his “pre-rehearsed editorial” and asked, “Did CNN’s most visible hard journalist just accidentally slip into third-rate punditry? Looks that way, and it probably wasn’t by accident.”

He ran clips of other Acosta moments Mediaite has previously reported on, like:

Acosta: White House Has ‘Unhealthy Fixation’ on ‘the Mexicans, the Muslims, and the Media’

Carlson argued that Acosta’s not supposed to be a talking head and wondered aloud if Jeff Zucker is even watching this.

Carlson calling out Acosta comes just days after another CNNer––Jake Tapper––called out Fox News and said they “deliberately lie[d]” about his “Allahu Akbar” remarks.
