Carl Paladino Recants Allegations That Andrew Cuomo Had Extramarital Affairs

Remember three days ago, when gubernational candidate and viral video superstar Carl Paladino responded to questions about his affair by shooting back, “Has anybody asked Andrew Cuomo about his paramours?” Campaign manager clarified Michael Caputo, “when he was married.”

And everyone went, wait what? Andrew Cuomo has had affairs? Absolutely, Paladino told Politico‘s Maggie Haberman, saying, “Want me to go get affidavits from the women? Is that what you want?”

When Habberman asked if he knew who the women were, Paladino said, “Three of the four.”

On Wednesday, when Paladino’s now favorite newspaper the New York Post asked if he had evidence to back up these accusations, Paladino responded, “of course” and reassured the paper that it would be provided “at an appropriate time.”

Only now it turns out, not so much.

Today Paladino is clarifying that he was speaking rhetorically, telling Buffalo News that he was just, “sick and tired of people asking me about if I’ve had affairs,” said Paladino, who has admitted to having an affair that resulted in a secret love child. “I was talking to [a reporter with Politico.com] and said ‘Why don’t you ask Andrew Cuomo if he has had extramarital affairs. It’s not that I was accusing him.”

We would accuse Paladino of accusing him but we would hate to sound like we were smearing the guy.
