Video Released of Steve Scalise Being Removed on a Stretcher After Shooting
MSNBC aired footage of Rep. Steve Scalise being removed on a stretcher after he was shot in the hip by an unknown assailant who opened fire on a GOP congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia Wednesday morning.
Stephanie Ruhle announced the new video, obtained by CBS News, which shows Scalise on a stretcher being taken away from the scene of the shooting by paramedics.
Rep. Mo Brooks decribed to CNN this morning the harrowing scene of the assailant opening fire on congressmen, wounding Scalise, who had to drag his body away from the shooter to escape gunfire.
Paramedics rushed Scalise to MedStar Washington Hospital to be treated for his wounds. According to a statement released by his office, Scalise was in “good spirits” and spoke to his wife before undergoing surgery:
