Trump’s Pick to Head VA Was Nicknamed ‘Scrote’ By George W. Bush For a Particularly Gruesome Reason

Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, the White House physician who President Donald Trump has tapped to lead the Veterans Affairs administration, is about to embark on one of the biggest challenges of his life — leading a team of 375,000 employees at one of the nation’s largest federal agencies.

One must wonder whether that challenge is more daunting for the expert doctor than another he endured years prior, and later told stories about to the likes of former President George W. Bush, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.

Apparently, Jackson once stitched his own genitals after suffering an accident. The doctor told Bush that performing the mini-operation on himself made him someone Bush could put his confidence in — after the president his leg open at his Texas ranch.

Via the Post:

One trait universally cited is Jackson’s storytelling ability. He has regaled colleagues with one particular tale about administering stitches on an intimate part of his body. He even recounted it for Bush after cutting himself with a hoe at the president’s ranch in Texas.

As he prepared to stitch up his leg, Bush protested. “It’s okay, I’ve sewn myself up before,” Jackson replied, then told the president about his earlier injury, according to people familiar with the episode. That earned him an admiring nickname from Bush: Scrote.

There are so many fascinating points to this revelation, included in an exceptional profile about the future VA secretary. For starters, Jackson appears comfortable with the fact that he stitched his own balls — so much so, he told a president about the experience as a means of relaxing him before stitching the commander in chief.

Perhaps even more exceptional is that Bush went on to affectionately refer to his own White House physician — one hailed across party lines as a professional in every way — as “Scrote.”

Now, “Scrote” will go on to lead Trump’s Veterans Affairs administration after former Secretary David Shulkin was fired via Twitter. Whether his new position in Trump’s Cabinet comes with an updated nickname remains unclear — at least for the time being.
