After Twitter Bans Alt-Right Users, White Supremacist Site Creates ‘Fake Black Person’ Accounts

twitterLast week, Twitter took action against a number of notable members of the alt-right movement, banning or suspending their accounts. One of the biggest names among those booted was Richard Spencer, one of the leading voices of the movement. Spencer recently headlined an alt-right conference in DC blocks from the White House.

In response to the banning of these accounts, the founder of a large white supremacist website published a blog in which he claimed that they had a campaign running where they would create a thousand “fake black person” accounts that would then be used to confuse Twitter users.

According to The Guardian, The Daily Stormer founder Andrew Anglin instructed his followers how they should create the accounts:

“We’ve got a big campaign coming up,” said Andrew Anglin, the founder of the Daily Stormer, in a post. “Twitter is about to learn what happens when you mess with Republicans.”

Here are Anglin’s instructions for creating a fake account: “Just go on black Twitter and see what they look like, copy that model. Start filling it with rap videos and booty-shaking or whatever else these blacks post. Read through their posts to get an idea of how they post. You need to be able to post in a manner which is indistinguishable from normal black tweeters.”

Following the election of Donald Trump, Anglin urged the site’s readers to troll a list of Twitter users who had expressed fear under a Trump presidency and try to push them to commit suicide.

The Daily Stormer also labeled New Balance the “Official Shoes of White People” after a company executive expressed hope in the wake of Trump’s election in regards to what it meant for the business.
