Deborah Feyerick of CNN reported that law enforcement is on the scene at 19th and College on the campus of Ohio State University, “trying to determine exactly what is going on” at this time.
The University in Columbus, Ohio has a student population of about 65,000.
Wyatt Crosher, an OSU student, told CNN’s Carol Costello moments ago live on the air, “We heard the gunshots across the street,” though admitted there is no way to know at this time what the sound exactly was. Crosher recounted however that first responder alarms were heard immediately after. “We don’t know much,” he added.
CNN Senior Law Enforcement Analyst Tom Fuentes opined that purely off of helicopter live footage that shows yellow police tape, it would suggest that the situation may be contained and that law enforcement may be dealing with “an active crime scene” at this time as opposed to an active shooter.
