CDC Warns Ebola Passenger ‘Possibly’ Symptomatic During Flight
Frontier Airlines has placed six crew members on leave out of “an abundance of caution” following the revelation that nurse Amber Vinson flew from Cleveland to Dallas the day before becoming symptomatic and testing positive for ebola.
According to the airline, the CDC also warned that it was “possible” Vinson “may have been symptomatic earlier than initially suspected; including the possibility of possessing symptoms while onboard the flight.” Ebola only becomes contagious when the patient is symptomatic.

Vinson “exhibited no symptoms or sign of illness while on Flight 1143, according to the crew,” Frontier said Thursday.
The plane was grounded Wednesday, but not before making five flights after Vinson’s. While the CDC is tracking down the other 132 passengers on her flight, it was unclear whether they were making an attempt to contact later passengers.
