CNN Goes to Bat for Mika and Joe After ‘Bleeding’ Facelift Tweet

CNN is standing with their MSNBC competitors in light of President Trump‘s latest slams against the political press.
Trump shocked the political and media worlds today when he attacked Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski by tweeting about how she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” on New Years Eve. MSNBC has already responded to Trump’s slams, and CNN is offering solidarity with their media colleagues:

Despite the network’s recent retraction scandal, CNN has been quite vocal with their recent Trump Administration denouncements for spreading fake news and for keeping cameras off during press briefings. Trump is taking flak for his tweets from both political sides, and multiple CNN figures have joined the chorus of condemnation:
The president of the United States just said a prominent woman had a facelift and was “bleeding badly.”
If that’s not bullying, what is?

CNN’s John King: “This isn’t just some boorish, sexist guy in a bar making an ass of himself. This is the president of the United States.”

Chris Cuomo also came to Morning Joe‘s defense, even though he and Joe Scarborough haven’t always played nice together in the past.
We are competitors, but Joe and Mika deserve respect. Mister President this attack is beneath the dignity of your office. https://t.co/JUDNu6Ithl
