Coulter, Glenn Beck Clash Over Whether Conservatives Should Jump Ship to Third Party
Glenn Beck brought Ann Coulter onto his show on Tuesday, and one of the issues they hit on was whether America needs a third party. Beck, who’s been on a strong anti-GOP crusade of late, believed the time has come, while Coulter said it wouldn’t do any good.
Coulter half-shrieked when Beck asked the question, giving him a firm “No!” and saying “This is how nations die, Glenn Beck!”
Beck argued historical precedent for third party separation, but Coulter said “it’s not that bad” now. She told Beck, “We have Ted Cruz, we have Mike Lee, we need more of them!”
Beck argued both Cruz and Lee would join a more ardently conservative party “in a heartbeat,” but Coulter quickly shot back that they wouldn’t, arguing if there’s going to be a third party in American politics, it should be one that’s “taking votes from the Democrats” instead.
