Daily Show Reveals Unused Gen. McChrystal Rolling Stone Cover

Jon Stewart predicted last night Gen. Stanley McChrystal would be headed for immediate resignation (he tapes his show in the early evening – maybe before Pres. Obama’s comments).

So although he may have more days to expand on the story later this week, he got some initial shots in during Tuesday’s show – including revealing an unused cover.

After playing clips of anchors reading some of the key passages from the article, Stewart said, “What the f**k does any of this mean?!” (The above image is Stewart playing a ‘clown stuck in 1985′ – what an aide apparently called National Security Adviser Jim Jones.) And assuming the persona of Gen. McChrystal: “Hey, wait, you’re with I’ll-never-print-this Magazine right?…You know I may be a four-star General and you may be a reporter for some hippie magazine, but I feel like I can trust you.”

But then Stewart got his hands on the non-Lady Gaga cover of the upcoming Rolling Stone. Look familiar?

Check out the full segment, also about the MMS name change and Obama golfing:

Wow, Stewart subtly takes a pretty big dig against Olbermann in the golf video.

I wonder if Olbermann will respond in some way.

Possibly – but not the type you expect.

Olbermann replayed Stewart’s last swipe at him. KO rather contritely promised to do better.
