Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi Hospitalized In Italy

U.S. Democratic House Minority Leader and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been hospitalized in Italy.

Pelosi, leading a bipartisan delegation, was in Rome to partake in the Italian nation’s 150th anniversary celebrations, and had intended to meet with Ignazio La Russa, the country’s defense minister, and Gianfranco Fini, head of the lower house of parliament. Pelosi was forced to cancel her meeting after taking ill.

She underwent various tests in Rome’s Umberto I hospital and was eventually released with what is being referred to as a “minor ailment.” There is a chance she may still make previously scheduled meetings.

Her DC office and the U.S. Embassy have so far refused to answer questions about Pelosi’s ailment or hospitalization.
