Fox Host Todd Starnes Blasts Hospital for Banning Fox News in Waiting Rooms

There is a medical center in Michigan that won’t let patients watch Fox News in its waiting rooms and Fox radio host Todd Starnes is not happy about it. In fact, he wrote a whole column denouncing the move on (where else?) FoxNews.com.
According to an employee of Family Health Care who spoke to Starnes, the president of the facility “directed staff to block Fox News after a board member complained” about Fox’s coverage of the Affordable Care Act. “The board member complained that patients were turning the channel to Fox News,” the anonymous employee said. “They are pro-ObamaCare and they felt [Fox’s] stance did not mesh with our stance.”
Apparently, it wasn’t enough to just keep the TVs off Fox, the hospital actually had to block the specific channel on them so that patients did not get up and switch to Fox on their own. The whole thing did not sit well with Starnes.
He wrote:
It’s almost impossible to believe, right? Surely, there must have been some sort of misunderstanding. What could possibly be so offensive about Fox News? I mean sure, Bob Beckel is known to use a few “colorful metaphors,” but he’s just a lovable curmudgeon. And who doesn’t love the Factor Word of the Day? We are a pithier nation because of the No Spin Zone.
When he reached out the president of Family Health Care, Kathy Sather, she defended the decision, saying it was her job to “ensure a positive patient experience in the waiting room.”
Starnes reacted in his column by writing, “I can’t imagine a patient finding a more positive experience than watching Fox News Channel.”
But even more offensive to Starnes is what the medical center’s patients are being “forced” to watch instead: CNN.
What do you think? Should a hospital be allowed to block a specific news channel if it is promoting an agenda that does not “mesh” with theirs?
And one more question for you:
