Giuliani: I Did a ‘Public Service’ By Bringing Up Hillary’s Health Questions

giulianiDonald Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani is doubling down on his embrace of conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton‘s medical condition by saying in an op-ed that what he did was a “public service.”

During a recent interview, the former New York mayor effectively mainstreamed the unsubstantiated rumors about Hillary Clinton’s deteriorating health by complaining about how the media constantly ignores them. In a Tuesday piece he wrote for USA Today, Giuliani defended his approach by saying it was all part of his plan to bring attention to Clinton’s 270 days of avoiding press conferences.

“I did not come to a conclusion on this matter; I simply asked people to draw their own conclusions,” Giuliani said. “I hope Secretary Clinton is perfectly healthy, and I feel that I have performed a public service if I can motivate the press to fulfill its responsibility to get the public the information it deserves.”

Giuliani pushed back even further on critics by attacking Clinton for not appearing before the media and allowing them to press her as much as Trump does. Giuliani said this was doubly important due to new details about Clinton’s various controversies which she has yet to address herself.

“Instead of Clinton addressing these subjects, I saw her recently perform at a scripted appearance with a half-dozen police chiefs from Democratically controlled cities,” said Giuliani. “This seemed out of place for a major party presidential nominee.”

Sean Hannity and other pro-Trump figures have been advancing the “Hillary’s Health” attacks over the past few weeks, though Trump’s critics have used the opportunity to question the mogul’s health in turn.
