Health Care Bill Inspires Violent And Hateful Fox Nation Comments
Fox News blog-enemy News Hounds has captured some of the online, anonymous commenter vitriol inspired since the House of Representatives passed the health care reform bill last night. On the Fox Nation article “The House Passes Government-Run Health Care,” many of the 3,000+ comments are angry, factually inaccurate and even blood-thirsty — an all too common reality for highly politicized internet content.
News Hounds wonders where the website moderators are while the hate speak persists, and judging by a few of the samples they’ve pulled, it’s a valid question. Here are some choice samples via News Hounds:

And that’s not all. Those up for a trip down the rabbit hole are encouraged to check out the original article here.

JOE?
I have to admit that I love the circus….so could you include some of the more colorful comments on various subjects from Daily Kos and Democratic Underground? They get really colorful, violent and vile as well.
Thanks!
Why would Mediaite do that? Based on their multiple articles praising SNL over the Fox skit (I have yet to see SNL do the same for MSNBC) and their multiple articles pointing out “See! See! Look at what the Right Wing did!” without the same for the numerous left wing blogs/newspapers/pundits it is obvious what their agenda is.
When I first started reading, I liked Mediaite due to their even coverage, however over time it seems that this newblog just wants to be a less-hateful version of the Huffington Post. Not that it would be any better.
I should add that Mediaite would only have to do a Twitter search for #hcr or ‘Glenn Beck’ to see much more hateful language from the than the first or third post from above (I don’t see any problem with the second post) .
Joeeeey!
your bias is showing . . . . . posters on FOX NATION are no more violent or vitriolic than the liberal politicians shoving health care down the nations throat without so much as a ‘look-see’ at the actual document they have voted for.
It is wrong when either side says stuff like those posts. And what makes this a sad reminder of the totoal lack of civility or honesty these days is that nobody will say, “Wow, that is just wrong.” Nope. Gotta make it the other guy’s fault. Spin it away.
Grow up. Violent language from either side is bad. Take an initiative and say so without pointing at the other side.
Thank God I am No Party Affiliation. Both parties and both sides are simply embarrassing.
“posters on FOX NATION are no more violent or vitriolic than the liberal politicians shoving health care down the nations throat without so much as a ‘look-see’ at the actual document they have voted for.”
how stupid can someone be to compare the violent and hateful rhetoric spewed on fox nation to what those evil “leebruls” are doing? what have they done that is so terrible, let alone, even close to what those fox nation goons say? are the liberals threatening anybody or wanting to kill them? its not even comparable.
It’s probably the people at NewsHounds posting many of those messages. I wouldn’t put it past them.
I remember when this same biased Mediaite was running things about KennedyCare and blaming the GOP for those signs at a tea party event and they were really placed there by Democrats (L L supporters).
IS this a real Blog site? I am now officially convinced Mediaite’s a GOP conspiracy, Making Liberals out to be the most ridiculously over sensitive bunch of Hypocrites ever. I’d say the first example is inappropriate & insensitive, but the other two? come on. You said Violent and Hateful. Did your elbow hit the publish button by accident?
“many of the 3,000+ comments are angry, factually inaccurate and even blood-thirsty —”
Where are they???? 3 out of 3000+Those don’t come anywhere close to the standard of Hateful & blood thirsty you, yourself set.
Yes, some of the backlashers are nuts. Wooo…what a surprise.
Maybe if the Democrats had written an “opt out” clause instead of a “we’re going to throw you in jail if you don’t do what we say” clause, the less crazy side of the Republican spectrum wouldn’t have sided with the paranoid Republican fringers so easily.
But when you say you’re passing legislation to “help people,” and you include legal language in that legislation which basically says *non-compliance in accepting our help is a criminal offense*…you’ve got to kind of expect that people are going to be a little upset.
Wow… a post that hypocritically attacks FOX (sourced from a site that has been proven to promote lies, misquotes, and fallacies) makes it onto Mediaite. Who’d a thunk it?!

Things like this never happened.
Or any post from Nachi on Mediaite. Or the recent comments from Alan Grayson.
Nope… those don’t exist… the left is always friendly and respectful.
Or not.
@FacebookUser,
I would suggest you search twitter hashtags for #hcr, #glennbeck, #sarahpalin then come back and say that the “leebruls” aren’t wishing ill or death on anyone on the other side. Hell, 2 minutes under the #glennbeck hashtag and you will see that 100% of the people not supporting Glenn Beck wish death upon him, or at least for him to be seriously hurt.
“Where the hell are the Fox Nation moderators?”
what makes you think it’s not the moderators making the comments just to stir the pot?
Wonderful, another opportunity for The Fox Keyboard Defenders to rally to the cause!
False equivalency of rhetoric from the right and left – check. Attack the messenger for having the audacity to point out predictably violence tinged right wing smears – check.
Same as its always been, on steroids.
My guess is that the nut jobs who are making the threats don’t understand that anyone with an internet connection (including the Secret Service and the FBI) can actually read them. Or perhaps they do understand this which begs the question, just how stupid are they? I’ll go out on a limb and say very stupid.
There’s an avalanche of Leftist web sites out there with much worse than this. Message to Fox Nation people: Keep doing what you’re doing; keep saying what you’re saying. This is not a principled position that News Hounds holds, and they know it.
News Hounds lies all the time about FOX News. And they also have racist comments on their own site. News Hounds has ZERO credibility.

Little Boy Blue: You really must cease this OBSESSION with me. I’ve long been popular with a multitude of beautiful creatures, but somehow never had in mind being stalked by something as insignificant as you. I do not live on this blog, as do you. Yet the few times I look in – you are smiten with me. Always filled with Repug hatred, lashing out like a scalded ape. What a delight it must be to be in your company! How do always-enraged Little People like you celebrate Christmas Eve – by molesting the children?? Do not expect me to reply to your silly little comments. You MUST come to grips with the fact that you are a hate-filled, bitter, valueless, tiny little citizen. And you will never, ever be any more than you are today. Your frustrations and resentments , printed on this blog, can no more improve your values – than sunshine can sweeten garbage. Avast ye!

Why is this a false equivalency? KOS (and those blogs) sponsored a Democratic debate last election… that shows they’ve got big power and influence… nasty comments on their blog are the same as on Nation.
As for “attacking the messenger,” the question is why is this more relevant than the attacks from the left? I know YOU think it’s more relevant because you hate FOX and Republicans… so anything that bolsters your POV is good, and things that don’t are bad. But since the world isn’t really quite so black and white, and your ego only controls YOUR life, not reality… the question of “Why” is relevant.

Do you feel the same way about MSNBC.com’s “Newsvine” site? There, they consistently have left-wing opinions, comments, and polls. Does that make NBC (and MSNBC and Microsoft), all Democratic outfits? Apply the same standard.

Uuuuuhhh? What does that even mean?
I talk about you, because you’re one of the posters around here who comes in, drops some nonsense (and I don’t mean, I disagree with your opinion nonsense… just real gibberish nonsense… always talking about “little people”), and then runs away. As for this particular reference to you, it was after I read this comment from yesterday:

Proof that Shadegg should have been…aborted. It’s never too late!http://www.mediaite.com/tv/congressman-uses-real-live-baby-to-debate-against-health-care/
So, based on a thread that centered around “nasty comments,” your comment that you believe Congressman Shadegg should be murdered, seemed to fit nicely with my argument.
Hey Mr. Coscarelli, maybe your next post should be about Mediaite.
Words, just words. Where is mediaite’s report on actual violence against a tea party goer — beaten up by the SEUI?
It has been more than three months since Kenneth Gladney was viciously attacked by SEIU employees.
I guess this board can’t report on that, since the media doesn’t report on it anywhere either.
How Badly Will Google Screw Up Your Gmail In Its Drive To Beat Facebook?

The grass is always greener in the digital world! First Facebook got all schizophrenic with homepate overhauls (and privacy setting catastrophes) in an attempt to be more like Twitter -- really, at this point, it's a bit of a crap shoot what your Facebook page may look like on a daily basis there have been so many overhauls. And now Google apparently wants to be the next Facebook.
Jenny Sanford is All Things to All Pundits
The story of embattled political soon-to-be ex-wife Jenny Sanford is one of the rarest incidents in American politics: a story that both sides can spin to fit their narrative. Sanford went on a media tour to promote her new book, Staying True, that hit all three major cable news channels and the unofficial fourth power in journalism, The Daily Show. And despite the vast ideological gaps among the mediums, every interviewer wanted her on their team.
